Lenten Fasting

+ Everyone 14 years of age and older is bound to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, all the Fridays of Lent & Good Friday.

Everyone from 18 & 59 years of age is bound to fast on Ash Wednesday & Good Friday.

On Ash Wednesday & Good Friday: one full meatless meal is allowed.  Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken, but together they should not equal another full meal.  Eating between meals is not permitted.  When health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige.

Catholics should not lightly excuse themselves from these minimal penitential practices.

Catholic Services Appeal

Each year the Diocese of Superior has a Catholic Services Appeal. All parishes are required to support the appeal. This year our assessment @ SJ is $31,490. So far we have raised $17,156 leaving a balance of $14,334. OLL has an assessment of $29,658. So far we have raised $21,560, leaving a balance of $8,098.
