Catholic Services Appeal

Each year the Diocese of Superior has a Catholic Services Appeal. All parishes are required to support the appeal. This year our assessment @ SJ is $31,490. So far we have raised $23,966 leaving a balance of $7,524. OLL has an assessment of $29,658. So far we have raised $24,205, leaving a balance of $5,453.  

 

Communication Center

If you are looking for past bulletins, lay ministry schedules, Faith Formation schedules, etc., you can always find them in our communication center located by the bathrooms in the gathering area.

 

Like” our Facebook Page

Don’t forget to “like” St. Joseph’s Facebook Page.  Our Facebook page updates events and other activities going on in the parish.  It is also useful to parents and youth of the Faith Formation page as we put schedule changes on Facebook.

 

Hall & Table Rental

If you need to borrow tables from the church for garage sales or other events, please call in advance to reserve them.  They are available for a free-will  offering.  The social hall is also available to rent for graduation & other parties. Ask for JoAnne 715-268-7717.

 

SJ Store

Do you need a Bible? Or maybe a small gift? We have a small store inside the parish office that might have what you need. The office is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5 pm.

 

Children’s Bulletin

St. Joseph now provides Children’s Bulletins that include fun activities. There is a basket with the bulletins and crayons in the gathering area before you enter the church. Please grab one before Mass if your children need something to occupy themselves.

 

E- Offering

Online credit card donations are accepted at St. Joseph Church.  If you would like to make a donation by credit card, go to our website www.stjosephamery.org.  Once you are on the homepage click the tab that says donations on the top right screen.  If you have any questions contact St. Joseph office.

 

St. Joseph Library

St. Joseph now has a functioning library.  The library is located in the hospitality room off of the gathering area.  If you would like to check out a book please sign it out in the book on the podium and return the book in the basket next to the podium. 

Donations Needed

Donations of non-perishable foods and hygiene items are needed. Always needed are canned meats, tuna, canned fruit and vegetables, juices, canned or dry pasta, sauces, boxed dinners, cereal, peanut butter and jelly. We can also use paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent and dish soap. Monetary donations can also be made at the address below:

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

The Polk County Homeless Shelter in Balsam Lake, WI is great resources for the people in need in our county. Donations of cleaning supplies, toilet paper, copy machine paper, paper towels, coffee and sugar are needed. There will be a collection basket in the gathering area for these items. 

 

Holiday Bazaar Chairperson Needed

We are in need of a chairperson this coming year for the annual Holiday Bazaar. The bazaar is held the second Saturday in November but letters are sent out to vendors in July.  If you are interested please let the parish office know.

 

GriefShare

St Joseph Church will be conducting a 13 week GriefShare program to help hurting people find help, hope and healing. The program, led by Rosemary Kephart, continues through Thursday, July 19th from 6:30 – 8 pm at St Joseph Church, Amery. A typical meeting will include a video, group discussion and a personal workbook exercise. All denominations are welcome and encouraged to attend. You may join in at any time during the 13 week program. Please register by calling the Church office at 715-268-7717. This program is funded by Williamson-White Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  

Parish Cluster T-Shirts

Beginning on the weekend of May 5th and 6th, parish cluster t-shirts will be for sale in the gathering area following Mass. Sizes range from youth XS to adult 3XL and will sell for $10 each. If you are unable to purchase a shirt following Mass, they will also be for sale in the parish office M-F from 9am-5pm. Thank you to the family of Kathleen Lutz for donating the funds to purchase a shirt for every child in Faith Formation.

 

Baby Bottle Fundraiser

Baby Bottle time is near! Options for Women Tri-County, located in Osceola, WI, offers assistance to anyone facing a crisis pregnancy. You can help us fulfill our mission of preventing abortions by taking a baby bottle on Mother’s Day weekend and filling it with your loose change. Then return it on Father’s Day weekend. Save the Dates

St. Joseph will be hosting two outdoor Masses at Michael Park again this summer. The first outdoor Mass and pet blessing will be on June 24th at 10:30 am. The second outdoor Mass with JC Rock Band will be August 26th at 10:30 am.

 

Diocesan Wedding Jubilee

The diocesan Wedding Jubilee Celebration will be held Saturday, July 21st, 2018 at Cathedral of Christ the King, Superior. The Wedding Jubilee celebrates the anniversaries ending in a 0 or 5 during the calendar year of 2018. Mass will be at 11:00 am with a catered luncheon following Mass at 12:30 pm.  Please contact Melissa at St. Joseph, 715-268-7717 or Sally at Our Lady of the Lakes, 715-405-2253 no later than Friday, June 8th to register.

Let’s Play Ball!

Our parish has the opportunity to participate in the summer church co-ed softball league again this year. Games are held Sunday evenings beginning June 10th at Jorgenson Field in Amery. Anyone over 12 years old can play.  This is a wonderful opportunity for exercise, fun and fellowship. If you have questions please call Rick Dado 715-491-1390 or Eric Wojchik 715-222-4154. 

 

Blood Pressure Checks

We will be offering quarterly blood pressure checks for everyone.  There will be stations set up after each Mass on the weekend of June 16th and 17th for your convenience.

VBS

St. Joseph will host Vacation Bible Study this year on July 30th through August 2nd from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. Dinner provided. Save the date in your calendar. Shipwrecked, Rescued by Jesus is the Theme.  Available to children going into grades Kindergarten through 4th in the fall. Registration coming soon. We are looking for 2 more people to donate & prepare supper for around 40 people on a Monday and Tuesday nights. Please let the SJ office know if you would like to help
