Catechists Needed: What & Who is a Catechist?

“The role of a Catholic catechist is to catechize (teach) the faith of the Catholic Church by both word and example”—Wikipedia. Catechesis is not just teaching the facts of the faith. Catechesis is about bringing people to Christ! It is helping people encounter the true and living God who is calling each of us into his heavenly life, and to bring others along. We are ALL called to bring others to Christ! We are currently looking for Catechists for the upcoming 2017-18 Faith Formation year.  We need catechists for many grades but we are in great need for an 11th grade Confirmation Class Catechist at St. Joseph. Please Prayerfully consider this chance to help our youth & you too will grow in knowledge & faith. Contact your parish office if you are interested or if you have any questions.

Backpack Fundraiser

The Salvation Army sends backpacks home to students in the area in need. They are asking churches to collect personal hygiene products to be added to the backpacks. For the month of August we will be collecting Gallon and Quart size Ziploc Bags to put they products in during the year.  We will have a basket for the collection by the bulletin board in the gathering area.
