+ Everyone 14 years of age and older is bound to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, all the Fridays of Lent & Good Friday.
+ Everyone from 18 & 59 years of age is bound to fast on Ash Wednesday & Good Friday.
+ On Ash Wednesday & Good Friday: one full meatless meal is allowed. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted. When health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige.
Catholics should not lightly excuse themselves from these minimal penitential practices.
Catholic Services Appeal
Each year the Diocese of Superior has a Catholic Services Appeal. All parishes are required to support the appeal. This year our assessment @ SJ is $31,490. So far we have raised $17,156 leaving a balance of $14,334. OLL has an assessment of $29,658. So far we have raised $21,560, leaving a balance of $8,098.
If you are looking for past bulletins, lay ministry schedules, Faith Formation schedules, etc., you can always find them in our communication center located by the bathrooms in the gathering area.
“Like” our Facebook Page
Don’t forget to “like” St. Joseph’s Facebook Page. Our Facebook page updates events and other activities going on in the parish. It is also useful to parents and youth of the Faith Formation page as we put schedule changes on Facebook.
Hall & Table Rental
If you need to borrow tables from the church for garage sales or other events, please call in advance to reserve them. They are available for a free-will offering. The social hall is also available to rent for graduation & other parties. Ask for JoAnne 715-268-7717.
Do you need a Bible? Or maybe a small gift? We have a small store inside the parish office that might have what you need. The office is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5 pm.
St. Joseph now provides Children’s Bulletins that include fun activities. There is a basket with the bulletins and crayons in the gathering area before you enter the church. Please grab one before Mass if your children need something to occupy themselves.
Online credit card donations are accepted at St. Joseph Church. If you would like to make a donation by credit card, go to our website www.stjosephamery.org. Once you are on the homepage click the tab that says donations on the top right screen. If you have any questions contact St. Joseph office.
St. Joseph Library
St. Joseph now has a functioning library. The library is located in the hospitality room off of the gathering area. If you would like to check out a book please sign it out in the book on the podium and return the book in the basket next to the podium.
The Salvation Army sends backpacks home to students in need. They are collecting personal hygiene products to be added to the backpacks. For the month of March we will be collecting Bar Soap and will have a basket for the collection in the gathering area.
